Fondazione SAFE is a non-profit organisation focused on advancing security, defence, and civil protection across Europe and beyond.
With over 70 projects implemented to date, SAFE transforms European values into actionable solutions for building a safer, more resilient society. It works closely with public institutions and private companies to address communal need and enhance societal well-being in over 50 countries in the European Union, Middle East, North Africa and Sahel.
Since 2021, Fondazione SAFE has been delivering yearly HEAT courses with the aim of equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate high-risk and unstable environments effectively. This forms part of the Foundation’s core mission to promote a greater culture of security, with the ultimate goal of increasing individual and collective security and freedom. SAFE guarantees the entire organisation and oversees the implementation of the HEAT courses, hosting the theoretical component in its HQ in Soave (Verona) and the real-life scenarios in the former military base Calvarina, located in Roncà (Verona).

Our HEAT training sessions are implemented by active-duty officers from the special forces of Esercito Italiano, Aeronautica Militare Italiana, and Marina Militare Italiana, guaranteeing respect for the highest technical standards, enhanced realism of simulations, and capacity to adapt to special needs and requirements of the training audience.

Fondazione SAFE is a certified member of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) and, the only Italian partner delivering HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) courses for personnel deployed in European Union CSDP (Common Security and Defence Policy) missions.
Through its expertise and continuous commitment to advancing security training, Fondazione SAFE actively contributes to the development of European training standards. By participating in dedicated EU working groups focused on the development and update of training curricula, we ensure that our HEAT courses remain fully aligned with the latest European and international standards.
